Grade 1’s “Budding Writers” session this week had the class talking and writing about something close to their hearts: their favourite toy.

The activity built confidence and creativity as students found the words to describe what makes their toy special — a small but meaningful step toward a genuine love for words and writing.

It’s early, hands-on literacy work that turns writing from a task into something personal, one favourite toy at a time.
