Who We Are

Education to be a positive experience needs to be tailored to the needs of each child

The Blue Mountains School located in its own spacious buildings on a 3.54 acre campus on the southern slopes facing Ooty Valley.

The School is a residential and co-educational institution established under the F.G. Pearce Educational and Charitable Trust, founded in 1961 by the late F.G. Pearce, the well-known educationist and a pioneer of the Indian Public school Movement, in association with a small group of people who has worked many years in the field of Education.

The four pillars of learning are the fundamental principles for reshaping education

The School of Joy

Well, BMS had assembly every day (I think except Saturdays, can’t remember that though). And on each day it was a different theme, Wednesdays were music(I think), where Mr. Deb would play some classical music (Beethoven,etc) (I remember very vividly once Nandita akka played Scott Joplin and my heart jumped with the music, another time it was Ravi Shankar playing some sort of jazz fusion....

The Twelfth Night

At The Blue Mountains School it was not reading or learning that mattered, it was the way it was taught. In our times we had Mr.Chanderamouli who made us, the final year guys, do the play the Twelfth Night by Shakespheare which was our paper for the final year.

Everyone surpassed their skills in English Literature. The greatness of BMS was such that there were some teachers who simply stood out from the rest. I was fortunate to learn under some all time greats.
